The French School in Belgrade is an international school attended by children of various nationalities. From preschool to high school, our educational program is rich and demanding, and it is being implemented under the supervision of a dedicated professional team.
There are moments in life when we look back and realize how a single opportunity can change someone's future. Four years ago, after completing Serbian middle school, our son was awarded the Bourse d'excellence de l’EFB Scholarship. He faced a major challenge: adapting to a new educational system, a new environment, and learning in French. It was not an easy journey, but thanks to his hard work, determination, and the support of dedicated teachers and school staff, he successfully overcame every obstacle. In June 2026, he graduated from the French School of Belgrade, has successfully earned his Baccalauréat, and has enrolled at Université Paris Cité. His achievement is, above all, the result of his own commitment and perseverance. At the same time, it would not have been possible without the people and institutions that opened their doors to him and placed their trust in him when he needed it most. Our family would therefore like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the French School in Belgrade, the Embassy of France in Serbia, and the French Institute in Serbia for their support, trust, and the opportunity they gave our son—an opportunity that has profoundly shaped his future and left a lasting mark on our family.
I would like to thank you for the wonderful and heartfelt welcome that the school provided. It is much easier to become part of a community when you feel the warmth and honesty that I, as a parent, and my daughter Marina felt from the first meeting with the students and the staff of the school. Thank you once again for the trust you have placed in Marina.
Our son, Georgi Grigorov, was enrolled in the 1st grade in The French School in Belgrade on September 5, 2022, with very little knowledge of French. Four months later, Georgi speaks and understands French well, and he does his homework with pleasure. As Georgi's parents, we want to express our satisfaction with the school and the teacher. She redoubled efforts and professionalism to ensure that Georgi feels comfortable and that he can express himself and communicate as well as French-speaking students.
The French School in Belgrade? A huge relief and what actually swept away our final doubts and made us decide to settle in Serbia. Finding a school environment like in France, enthusiastic teachers, as well as the opportunity to systematically work on correcting lacks in knowledge of the Serbian language, enabled our child to develop in a balanced environment and to easily continue his studies in France.
As parents of Ecesu Basara, who graduated from the French School in Belgrade this year with a certificate of appreciation and is proud to be a Science Po Menton student, we convey our sincere thanks and respect to the French School of Belgrade. If Ecesu has achieved this success today, it is because of the excellence of her teachers and the institutional and on-site work of the school administration as well as her own personal efforts.
Personally, I have really enjoyed the years spent in the French School in Belgrade! It is a school which provides quality education from the earliest age. If “a measure of the relevance of an educational model is the level of happiness of a child” then I had the opportunity to follow the best one. As we get older, we get to be accompanied by teachers who make students’ progress their priority. Not being very numerous in classes, all students receive as much attention they need, resulting in a high-quality learning. I have also acquired many skills that help me today in my career thanks to the immersion in an international environment and thanks to learning several languages from a very early age. In addition, throughout my schooling, I have received a lot of support and I’ve always felt the benefits of being in a protective environment!
The French School in Belgrade gives you the opportunity to grow up in Belgrade, and to get at the same time the schooling provided by one of the best educational systems in the world. On top of that, it offers another advantage – people you meet in preschool by chance often become your friends for life.
As a diplomat, I would recommend the French education system not only to my colleagues, but also to other expats, because it has a very extensive network worldwide, and greatly facilitates integration of children in case of moving to another country. In addition to the above, this system my family and I have experienced in Rome, Oslo, Madrid and Belgrade, represents the excellence of the French educational system and involves interaction with different local cultures.
The French school in Belgrade is the only school I have attended so far. I have spent many years there, from preschool until the end of high school. This school means a lot to me, because I made lots of friends and fond memories there. Teachers and other staff are amazing, and every student gets all the attention they need. My life would not have been the same if I had gone to different school. This has been a wonderful experience.
The French school in Belgrade is a small school where you feel at home – very comfortable and welcome. We all became kind of a big family. There is no other school like it, with such an excellent level of education and a good atmosphere. I highly recommend it!
I have attended the French School in Belgrade from 5e to the final year of high school. My experience is very positive. Teachers have always been there to help me and to push me towards achieving excellent results. My peers and I went on several field trips. Those trips, as well as every day spent at school, was made of moments of bonding, fun and support. I met friends and built lifelong relationships. I have acquired social and intellectual skills I will definitely need in the future. It is a school that approaches each student as an individual, and I am more than happy that I attended the French School in Belgrade.
